IF YOUR BUSINESS IS TO GO DEEP, WE’LL HELP TAKE YOU TO GREAT HEIGHTS

Putzmeister has taken the mining industry over by storm with a range of products designed specifically for optimum mining services. And one decade is all it’s taken for its name to become synonymous with excellence, high standards and ethics. With a range of low-profile concrete mixers and mechanized or manual spraying equipment, we are fully equipped to handle any part of the mining process. When it comes to solid pumping, Putzmeister is at the top of its game with machines which boast of high performance and reliability in harsh underground mining environments, and are resistant to heat, dust, humidity and vibrations.
LOW PROFILE CONCRETE MIXERS FOR HIGH-PROFILE PERFORMANCE
Low profile concrete mixers are a convenient method for transporting the concrete mix from the concrete plant to the work front, especially in smaller dimension tunnels. These trucks have two principal functions: concrete mixing and agitating, and their application depends on the type of plant that the job site is using.
Given the small section galleries and harsh conditions of underground mining, Putzmeister’s line of low profile concrete mixers MIXKRET provide optimal maneuverability and mobility, thanks to their compact size and powerful engines. Also notable is their capacity to operate in high altitude environments.
Putzmeister’s line of low profile truck mixers are your best bet, with unbeatable performance levels and heavy duty, reliable concrete transport machinery.

Concrete spraying in underground mining
Executed with mechanized shotcrete spraying equipment, concrete spraying has become the standard in flagship underground construction work as it offers high quality, homogenous application, along with increased safety and efficiency.
A high spray output combined with a reduced rebound rate, reduced workforce requirements and equipment wear and tear, as well as a safer working environment, make it the preferred working method worldwide.
Putzmeister’s concrete spraying offering is vast, with our WETKRET line of machines servicing high volume underground mining projects the world over, ensuring safe and accurate concrete spraying.

OUR ROBOTIC ARM GIVES YOU A LEG UP IN EXPLOSIVE CHARGING
The drill and blast cycle in underground mining operations is known to those versed in the field. The technique involves essentially drilling boreholes into the rock, placing explosives in them, and then blasting it to properly fragment the work section. In the explosive charging component of the process, boreholes are charged with cartridge or bulk explosives, by way of a pumping action with a hose pusher.
Putzmeister provides customers with a solution for explosive charging named MINECHARGE. The system is the latest arm of Putzmeister technology and was developed with leading explosive manufacturers. It features a robotic arm designed for SLC and VCR blasting holes.

OUR HYDRAULIC BACKFILLING SYSTEMS FILL THE VOID IN MORE WAYS THAN ONE
Underground mine backfilling is a form of ground improvement required in underground mining. Advanced mining methods such as “Cut and Fill” or “Room and Pillar”, safety considerations, environmental aspects as well as economic reasons are some of the main arguments for backfilling.
The large underground voids created by ore removal are backfilled with the waste tailings in the form of (cemented) paste fills. For this, a paste consisting of tailings and additives, such as cement, fly ash, boiler slag or other aggregates, is prepared on the surface and pumped to the depositing point in the gallery via pipelines down the mine shaft.
Putzmeister offers a complete paste preparation system, from mixer to buffer hoppers to the piston pumps of the KOS or HSP series.
To reduce pressure differences during the switchover of cylinders, Putzmeister offers three distinct Pulsation Prevention and Pulsation Damping Systems.

High resistant and low maintenance systems equipped with hydraulic units for maximum performance.
DETAILING THE TAILING: TRANSPORTING WASTE FROM THE ORE EFFICIENTLY AND ECONOMICALLY
After the material from the mining process is excavated, it is first segregated and classified. In the case of ore and coal, the ore appears in veins and the coal in so called seams.
Along with this, a lot of unwanted substance known as 'tailings' are also excavated which is of little use in metallurgy processes. These tailings are transported to ponds and landfills using a pipeline located within or around a surface tailings storage facility.
Putzmeister HSP pumps are designed to transport tailings, and have proven to be a cost effective and efficient solution.

SPEAKING ALL SLURRY: EFFECTIVE MINERAL TRANSPORTATION IS THE KEY
Reliable mineral slurry transportation is the heartbeat of the mineral processing system which ensures the smooth flow of the entire process.
Putzmeister HSP pumps are capable of transporting high volumes from the crushing facility to their next processing point, such as dewatering or intermediate storage.
